So far you haven't been super kind to our household. Husband has been home sick in bed for two days now which sucks for him. It also kind of sucks for me since he's not up to helping with very much since going up or down the stairs wipes him out. On top of that our darn dishwasher has broken again. We have Samsung appliances all over the house. Every single one of them works perfectly and I couldn't be happier except that dishwasher. So I am currently chief dishwasher as well as cheif remover of cats from the dishes waiting to be washed. It's a bit of a juggling act.
I have to admit that January is never my favourite month. In fact it's probably my least favourite month most years. It tends to be a let down after the holidays and everyone is broke. Plus it's incredibly cold in Canada. I work at a university so I tend to feel that excited, start of a new year more in September than I ever due in January.
The great thing is that after January comes February which kicks off with my birthday and tends to be a much better month. Then comes March with Husband's birthday which I get more excited about than he does. So we have lots to look forward to.
First I just have to get through to the weekend and take care of house keeping and grocery shopping. Then it's time to rest up and just get through January so 2013 can give us a proper chance.

I know what you mean about January. It's always so cold, and it seems like it lasts forever.

I'm not a fan of January, either! I'd say April is one of my favorite months. January is just so dreary and cold: I have cabin fever bad!
